Goddess of Dacia (Romania)

Engraved gemstones

goddess in amazon dress stands between two horsemen

Lapis lazuli stone engraved with moon-crowned goddess, horsemen in Thracian caps, worshippers, snakes and stars. This is likely to be Bendis, who was a lunar deity, also known as Kotys. Greeks linked her to Artemis, and in Roman times she would have been called Diana. The Greek inscription at bottom however seems to read Ariadne, however the first letter is effaced.

a similar scene, this time goddess has bird on head

Another scene of the goddess flanked by riders, with deities in the sky, and a bird over her head. Offerings are lined up in front of her. Engraved chalcedony.

On this ring the goddess
